At Sue Gregor we've made a range of floral, contemporary perspex jewellery which is inspired by the animation films like those of 'Studio Ghibli', so we called it the 'Ghibli' range. The idea was to capture the colours and feel of the halcyon days that often appear in the animations. They evoke a happy and joyful feel.
The floral jewellery collection is made using real hydrangea flowers, geranium, box hedge leaves and fern leaves which are collected from paths and hedgerows and the Sue Gregor garden. Every piece is individually handmade. The flora and fauna are collected, dried and pressed then used to create the designs. The process developed by Sue Gregor is reminiscent of fossils, as the fine detail, including even the veins of the leaves, show on the embossed surface of the acrylic. The leaves perish in the process so each piece is unique as all leaves and flowers differ from all others.
