This drawing of dried flowers in a blue pot was created in my kitchen. My neighbor bought the dried flowers as an apology for his builders! The blue pot I inherited from my sister. She collected studio pottery. This piece had a fabulous drip glaze and a wonderful bulbous shape. So the elements have good memories for me. It is an exploration of form and detail. I enjoy the spherical pot and the tiny leaves of the dried plants.
I decided to keep the background simple and minimal so the fine details of the plants show up clearly. I used a mixture of media: pencil, watercolour, and Acrylic pen. I enjoyed the mixture of marks it was possible to achieve using different methods
