This is the first in my series of drawings based on hay fields. This field is in Stoke Park, Bristol, a favourite walk of mine. I challeneged myself to capture the texture and vitality of the field. It has a feel of summer. Everything is growing and celebrating. 

I have a concern with Mark-making and building up texture with positive dark marks and the use of rubbers to create a rich surface with a feel of depth and texture.
