Olive Whitebeam | Wide Cuff

This Olive and Raspberry Cuff bangle is made using whitebeam leaves. I collect, dry and press the leaves then heat the acrylic and press the leaves into the surface. I use the leaves as a stencil to apply the colours, which give my botanical jewellery a contemporary feel. The whitebeam leaf is then peeled off to reveal the design. This is a method of dying and embossing plastic I developed myself. I call it 'fossilized plastic' due to the fine details, like fossils, that are captured on the embossed surface. I choose quite ordinary plants and weeds to create my floral jewellery. I hope that the wearer will not only enjoy them as jewellery but also review their appreciation of the natural world.

They come in a biodegradable gift box and envelope. They are made from recycled plastic which would otherwise end up in landfill or worse! They make a perfect gift for a woman.
